How did we get our start?

HOOey founder Joey Austin wanted to create a progressive brand that represented the passion and interests of western kids. In 2009, after returning to Texas from California, Joey launched Hooey with just two hat designs.

Why the name Hooey?

The term 'hooey' refers to the knot a cowboy uses to tie a calf's legs together in tie-down roping rodeos.

What makes Hooey a strong brand?
